RHS Tatton Flower Show 2008 set up

Steve our
digger driver sets out the site.
|
Our stone
arch starts growing.
|
Looking
a little more like it, eventually 17 tonnes of dry stone walling go
into our Roman stone grotto.
|

The york stone paving is laid.
|
We get
interviewed by the BBC, I think the corporation
decided I have got a face for the radio.
|
Nearly
there, just the chamomile lawn to lay.
|
SHOW TIME!
Our first show garden and Dragonfly Garden Design
are awarded a silver medal.
|
Classical
values with Italian topiary, ancient stone flags
and a Roman grotto with an statue of Aphrodite.
|
The box
hedging and lavender looks beautiful, and if you can
imagine dozens of bumble bees buzzing around,
it was really quite magical.
|
Punk path
and Chamomile lawn look good.
Interestingly there is a great web site called www.pavingexpert.com
which describes all types of paving
methods - it's a great site if you want to avoid cowboy techniques,
and the author Tony McCormack, actually commented on our spikey Punk
path, stating that 'after all these years of experience it's nice to
see there are still new ways of using paving' - or something like that,
nice to impress an expert.
Sorry about the foot prints on the path - muddy RHS judges.
|
We had
loads of interest from the public, something a bit different.
|
Anarchy
at an RHS flower show, is nothing sacred.
Punk's Not Dead
|
Punk planting
looks great.
|
Rob, the
Dragonfly muscle has had enough of the Judges.
|
Rob models
the latest in Punk gardening fashion.
|

Two weeks
of work trashed in a day.
GOING!
|
GOING!
|
GONE!
Heartbreak.
|
We a day
out at Tatton park a few months after the show, it is amazing to think
that for 1 month of set up, show and break down this English meadow
is a hive of activity and creativity.
